92 accord 133500 miles, just changed oil & filter a month ago and checked it today and the dipstick showed it had hadly any oil in it, and that oil was pretty thick and had a slight smell of gas to it. I replaced my pcv valve which was nastey, is the car just burning it?

 

does your car smoke?
how does your coolant look?
is your oil milky at all?

 

no smoke, its cold out so it looks like all cars do. coolant is good, i dont think its a headgasket but its possible

 

After you changed the oil and filter, did you run the engine a short time and then check the dipstick to make sure you had the correct oil level in there?

If it started out at the correct level and the dipstick now hardly shows any oil, it's either leaking out or getting used up by the engine. Is this car new to you? If you've owned it for a few oil changes, how has the level been holding between changes?

 

put the reccomended amount of oil in, yes i did let it run then checked it after it ran for a bit. when i replaced my pcv valve i took my rubber intake pipe off and there was an oil film build-up in it.
