Well as i was going for a drive today i hear this pop come from my engine bay and my car just shuts off, when i get it over to the side of the road and pop the hood i find that the top to my MSD Blaster Coil 2 had poped off! Its been on the car for about a year now and i have never had any problems till today. I went to the shop i bought it from to get a new one and they told me that they have heard of it happening before and the i could have been a few thing 1) something wrong with my ignition system and it got too hot 2) vibration could have caused it or 3) it was just defected. Well they called MSD and they said to bring in the old one and that they would give me a refund for the new one i had to buy Well the new coil is in and everything is running good but has anyone ever had this experience? Any other ideas as to what could have caused it?

Could have possibly been caused by arcing somewhere? If I were going to use an MSD Blaster coil I would probably go with the Blaster 3, which has a taller center tower to help prevent arcing between the terminals. Just a thought.
