whats the difference between a msd ignition and the oem one
Whats the difference between a msd ignition and the oem one. Will it make a power difference or anything. Any help would be great
MSD helps creat a better spark, however it will do no good if not harm if you are under 400hp. Stock Honda ignition will support up to 400hp.
EDIT: I had it on my car when I bought it, that was the first thing that was changed out for OEM. It actually improved my car when it was removed.

Muliple
Spark
Discharge
It uses capacitve discharge to make a series of hotter sparks for 20-30 degrees of crank rotation. The oem ignition fires once per at the end of compression stroke. I've installed them on old chevy hotrods but have yet to use it on my GSR. Some people like them and some don't. I know the OEM ignition can handle up to 400hp(from what people on H-T say) so i've yet to install one. Thinking about it though. i wanna get the MSD pro billet Honda Distributor with SS coil w/module but not sure if it's 50 state legal. The digital 6 looks cool with built in retard and rev limiter.
