Default So, here's an Interesting Idea to get an SiR in the States...

At the VW Forum I frequent, a guy bought a Golf GTI Rallye (the holy Grail of MkIIs).

Anyway, it's illegal. But he stripped it down of everything but MOST of the frame.

He then gave up that 1/2 of a shell or so the the DMV. They will be crushing it.

At which point he will put all the parts onto a US-legal Golf.

Which will Give him a Rallye....

Why not do this with an SiR?
With the lengths so many people go to to get a similar car, why not just do this?
(though the whole RHD vs LHD thing could make this more of a pickle)

A lot of people do that ^. Import a car, strip it down, put parts on new car (I.E. chassis keeps the same vin so techically it's legal). Just most people don't want to go through the hastle unless it's some super rare car to a certain crowd like the Golf GTI Rallye .
