Default running /w too much oil for a day.. what damage could be done?

did oil change in like 10 mins last night hella quick and accidently poured in more then planned (used the 5 quart big bottle) and ended up putting in too much, so had to jack up car again and rain some out, and then turne don motor checekd and saw it was right at 2nd dot, but today drove car for about 40-50 miles, then go home and check oil again when it was Cold, and it read above 2nd dot by like 1/4 distsance betwen 1st and 2nd dot... im going to Drain out some more right now but What Damage could i have Done to my TURBO motor. its a JDM b18B1 /w t3/t04E turbo.. put about 4.8 initial quarts. drained about an unmeasured about and beilve i might have about 4.5 quarts in there... draining about 1/2 quart out right now.. i know it can foul up plugs and piston rings wahtevers but i didnt take RPM's above 4-5k and only hit boost about 3-4 times /w partial open thorrtle..

too much oil for too long starts messing up oil seals everywhere randomly depending on where there is more pressure. and it wears out the piston rings, kills gas mileage, and deducts some power.

but if you only did it for one night you should be ok as long as you werent constantly smashing it all night long.

ic. yeah im conservative driver. hmmm juss drained about 1/2 quart out. and jacked it down and checked levels w/o cranking engine, reads about LITTLE BIT .. about 1/8 of an inch above 2nd dot.. THAT SHOULD BE KOO right? correct me.. im not too famliar with Hondas and how excess oil will hurt.. juss know honda built motors taht wont break down so easily.. just dont want to jack up car for 3rd time to drain out oil with a stock jack =\

Just curious, those big jugs of oil you see for sale are 5 quarts, I always thought they were 4 quarts? Or do they sell both sizes?

it should even out for that time you ran with too little oil and made a post about that too.

nah, just kidding.

seriously though. start checking your oil when you change it.

nobodys answering your question?

that should have been all the answer you needed. If its not between the two dots, keep draining until it is. Don't come back after you drained a little and say "its still not between the two dots, what do i do?!".. just drain more.

wait.. you do realize, you have to wipe off the dipstick before you check it, right?

i think he's asking since he's lazy to go under his car a 3rd time to drain out some more oil, he's wondering is it ok to leave the oil a 1/8 inch above the 2nd dot. and obviously its common sense to wipe the dipstick and im pretty sure he does it. but about the excess oil.. i would just drain about 1/4 a quart out and be safe.. rather be a little low on oil then have too much is the motto

why not the drain it all this last time and refil it. so you will be sure you have the right amount instead of guessing.
