What kind of manifold did you use? I have a HY35 but Im not too sure if I can get away with a fullrace ramhorn or if I will need to build a topmount to clear it.

EDIT: Its for a b18b if that makes a difference.

I made my own ramhorn style. Its a very tight fit in the EF engine bay.

Well its going in an EG which has a wee bit more room. Was the clearence issue on the block side or the rad side?

i run my compressor on the drivers side and had to hack up my a/c mount a tad...but aside from that my ramhorn works awesome...only thing id go topmount for is easier to do a split scroll mani which should be what your shootin for since even some new turbos are comin out in split scroll mani t3 base form

i made my own as well, i did a topmount in the EF chassis, so it was pretty tight. in retrospect i wish i would have went split scroll, but i didnt want to buy 2 wastegates at the time. if the topmount/ramhorn can fit a bigger gt series turbo then i dont see any reason why it shouldn't fit the holset.

Clearence was more of an issue on the rad side, but I'm using an aluminum EG rad. Its tight near the rad and behind the headlight.

Maybe these will help

Ahh I get what your saying. My EG has considerably more room on the rad side but I will probably still have to put the compressor on the drivers side. It almost looks like it would have been easier for your to backdoor your intercooler with the way its situated.

What did you use for the oil feed? The fitting doesnt look to be standard?

The HY35 im running is only a single entry turbo anyways so split scroll wouldnt really be needed for my application.

ah yes the blasphamous 9cm housing...run it and see how you like it...your most likely going to have traction problems because the spool onset hits very hard esp w/ a decent sized motor like the 1834cc ls block....you might consider stepping up to a 12cm housing....lose a lil spool time which actaully helps traction & let it breath a lil more...

Heh. The idea behind the hy35 (besides the low cost) was for it to be more drivable with a better spool, if that tends not to be the case ill just switch it out for a HX.

i'm using the 14cm2 exh housing, get full boost by around 4500rpm, would be interesting to see how much the split scroll does help.

14cm? and 4500 not bad.

I'll chime back in and let people know how I do with the BullsEyePower housing on a mini-me.

BTW... I've seen all sorts of mani's can work but really I would usually evaluate these types of fitment issues on a case to case basis. I duno if anyone can really answer the OP for certain. On the EG though I can't imagine having any trouble at all... this coming from an EF owner.

i run an equal pressure style ramhorn mani...and i see 15lbs by about 4200ish by my datalogs...using s split scroll would prob take it down significantly by about 400-600rpms....w/ a proper designed mani...only prob being is sometime spool isnt needed because it just exaggerates an already present traction issue...

I actually changed the inlet a bit from that pic.
The oil feed is male on both ends with a hex in the middle that's all I know. I took the turbo into a place that sells and makes hoses for hydraulic setups and told them what I needed and that's what they came up with; basically an adapter.
Your HY is the exact same as mine then. I got mine for free at the chrysler dealer I was working at which is the only reason I used it and like drumking15 said boost hits hard.

Here's the dyno of it on my stock b16:

i realize your not asking me, but i'll take the liberty of replying i run the 38mm wastegate, with the .6bar spring on my topmount hx35/14cm2 3" downpipe. i see a minimum of 10-12lbs, with some erratic spiking. with that said i have to make a few more checks, make sure my wastegate bolts never came loose, etc... i do wish however that i went with the 44mm gate right from the start. if you plan to run racegas as well, make sure the gate will handle it long term. something the normal tial 38mm cant

The smaller tials (35/38) have issues with race gas? Ive never heard of that before.

I'm using a fake 38mm tial and its fine but I'm using a 2.5" dp and 2.25" crush bent exhaust.
When I ran open dp it spiked to 13psi from 10psi

mine came with a tag stating that the gate is not intended for race gas, you need a new valve; check link

http://www.tialsport.com/prod_wg_38.htm

most tials sold come with the street valve. i've read you can use race gas just not repeatedly, after time it wrecks the gate... but i dont know for sure.
