Does any one know what happened to Darrel Bacon with the green ek turbo? The last time I saw him he was racing the RATHER BEE RACING super charged white eg from the frisco area.

 

He is still around .. you might find him at the local street races he has a kid and a house and still does car stuff.

I still remember him comming out to Glenoaks one night..... car was just insane on the top end.

IF I had enough time I would scan the feature he had from Sport Compact car magazine. First modified EK I saw and it was slammed , turboed, VOLKed, and it was still a new car.

 

wasn't he the announcer @ palmdale..... Im not sure but i think that was him!

 

he comes by the shop every week.... still street races .....og racer for life

 

i remember when he came out to glenoaks and raced a old gsxr750 off the line and spun out nearly wrecked. the face on his (hot) girls face i will never forget. she for sure saw her life flash by her

first ek i saw with swaped H-series turboed caged. dam those where the good old days. ture og street racer.

I remember the Blue CRX, one of the first boosted SOHC motors in the Valley.

I remember the Nissan Stanza 4 door sedan. Back in those days, Darrell was the loudest MF out there. People would come around trying to out bump him, he turn that shh up and rock the house, it was funny.

Last time I saw that thing -

(4) 10" Vega Subs on a Hi-Fonics Zeus amp (900W RMS)

Im not sure how many mids and tweets and mid basses, but most of that was ran off (2) Hi-Fonics Thor amps. I've never heard 4 10's play any louder in my life, still.

He had Vega horn tweeters in the grille once...

He didn't need it, you could hear that thing for a solid block away, no joke, lyrics and everything at about 3/4 on the ****.

Ah yes the EARLY days of what is now called The Sport Compact Lifestyle....

He was hardcore, would roll to races on his M/T slicks...

One of the very last times I saw him was at the Northridge Street Races when we used to gather over at Sizzler.

He was over with a buddy of his in the lot where Pet Smart is and Barnes and Noble used to be.

Then his father sold the house and moved back to his homeland I think and Darrell didn't wanna go, so he stayed behind. I was at his house one day just looking threw old mags, early Sport Compact Cars, Stupid Streets, you know the usual. Even Toy Machine Racing.

Yah it was a hb my friend was going to race him in Compton but Darrel's head gasket blew. I remember now Darrel was talking mad **** that night too, at the Fullerton street races. LOL Those were the days.

 

You ******* fools still remember me huh?I luv U all too.U cant forget about me but hey if it wasnt for all U fans,Hondas wouldnt be so crazy now.Anyways,Ill continue from where I left off.My dad sold the house and moved to the Phillippines and my mom moved a year after that.I continued going to Cal State University and Graduated with a BA in Buisness.I got a house in SCV and have a 9 month baby boy named Connor.I stopped racing back in 1999 to finish college.During that time I got an 1988 CRX with a stock B16a motor and put a rev hard stage 3 turbo and it went 11.81 with a stock ECU and motor except the 2mm head gasket.I ran that from 2002-2003.I won 1st place and King of the hill trophy at Summer Challange at LACR July 2003. and sold it on e-bay for 10Gs.I got a 1991 CRX in 2004 with a B16 and did some **** to the motor and it ran 13.8 at LACR.After that I got a 1993 EG HB which I have now and U can read the specs on my profile here.My EK I had then was converted to a tube frame which should be done in 2007.I have 80 grand into it and hopefully should hit 7s.Ill be happy with 8s though.That will be my last drag car.My current EG will race 2007 season in the street class.After that,Im buying either an EVO or BMW M5 and taking that to the extreme.Right now Im doing engine swaps and building motors helping everyone catch up as my hobby.Im currently learning the Hondata S300 parameters.My friend owns a dyno and Ive been playing with programs.I plan to open a dyno tuning shop soon and Im picking up a Mustang dyno in a few months.Ill be hiring a good tech out there to do my swaps because Im taking the next step in technology.My last latest project was EG HB with a K24-K20 head with ITBs which ran 11.1 on a customers car.We didnt get time to race it at Battle because he totalled the car but hes gonna sell me back the the whole engine and I plan to use in in another EK.Im happy to know U guys are still around.I have a funny story to tell U old school guys.Do U remember Peter from PYR Racing?If U do he was about to race his friends Black CRX on the precision track in Sylmar and at the time he had warrants and a suspended license and the cops rolled up fast as he was heating up the tires and Peter saw the cops and just left the car running and he ran away.That was some funny *** ****.His friend did getback to the car but got a street racing ticket.LoL.Anyways as soon as I get off this restricted ****,Ill post my projects on and does anyone have Myspace?If U do let me know and Ill send U my link.It has alot of pics of my cars on it and my old magazine coverage from 1996-1999.Take it easy and well all meet up at the next Battle so U can see my cars run once again.ttyl Darrell Bacon
