Default Rear view mirror question, does it turn 90 degrees at pop off?

Hello everyone.

I'm trying to install an aftermarket mirror in my car, unfortunetly Acuras don't have camlock mirrors. Camlock mirror is when the mirror turns 90 degrees and then pops off.

What i'm trying to do, is find a junked mirror off a CRV, Pilot, Accord. Im going to use the mount and buy an aftermarket mirror thats camlock to attach to it. The reason I'm doing this is to prevent mounting the new mirror to the windshield, and the CRV, pilot, accord mirror's mount to the roof. SO if anyone has a car lying around and wants to try to twist off their mirror let me know Thanks in advance! -Jeff

Little hondas? Such as civics? The aftermarket mirror I want uses camlock system, so I need to make sure the mirror/mount i buy is deff camlock. The website says that civic, accord, crv, pilot are all compatible I was just trying to really confirm. Now I just need to see if the bolt patterns match with my rsx for the roof. It shall be interesting. If not im gonna do some minor drilling

civic, accord, cr-v are camlock i think and the pilot, odyssey, and rl are spring lock.
But i'll check the parts catalog once I get to work

Nice, thanks man I appreciate it!

I went to a junk yard to find one and Honda, but they don't stock them. Also, I've seen CRV mirrors that are roof mounted, but apparently the newer CRV models are windshield mounted. You have an idea of what the cut off is?

So the whole goal is to buy a Donnelly Camlock mirror, attach that to a CRV Camlock roof mount, and bolt that to my RSX roof. The bolt patterns might be different, but I'll work around that

Thanks Ross!

the crv camlock is on gen 2 02-06. It mounts on the windshield. I don't think it is tthe same size as other camlocks. Doesn't the donnelly have the windshield mount included?
