Default 2.0 gsr for 2.4 h22???

well, should i trade my 2.0 gsr motor, pushing 210 to the wheel, fully built, for a 2.4 liter h22.. the motor has an f23 crank and rods, and a built head... mine is fully built.. it would be going in a type r, with the h2b kit, but im worried about getting pulled over here in cali with an h22 in it... soooo , worth it? or not?

not in a million years would i even consider trading a "built" 2 liter b series for a frankenstein H series, unless i owned an accord or prelude.

what you need to do is put osme headowrk into that 2 liter. if it was "fully built" i would expect 230ish out of it.

Assuming you know history of the b series and not the h series. That being said, keep the b series

If you're not happy with what you already have then you should step up and get the H24.

need more details on the H build.

I would choose a built H22 over a 2.0L B series anyday.

I had a built 2.0 Ls/vtec and switch overto a 2.5 H-series. All I can say is I would never go back to B-series unless its for turbo. Now its time to play with the K so I can say I'll never go back to the H haha. If I was you I would stick with the B-series if your so nervous about the feuds.

Your obviously not happy with your 2.0 Bseries because your trying to trade for a H22. Maybe you should work on finding out whats going on with your motor considering its only making 210, sounds kinda fishy to me. I only say 210 is strange because you said its "fully built".

I think if you were planning to go with the H2b and you know the history of the h22--its pretty obvious. But what happens if you trade your (I assume) healthy motor for the h, and it turns out to be a pos? On high revving NA builds--its always a gamble getting a used "built" motor. Otherwise I would go with the h22 without hesitation.

i wouldnt take the motor away from the car. Keep the b and build your own h. THat way you can keep the cars value if you sell it.

Is situations like these, you have to ask yourself 2 major questions.
1.) Do you want monster streetable torque, or super-high end HP?
2.) Are the results yielded from this swap going to be worthwhile. (Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Ask yourself this, and if you give yourself an honest answer, no hype no 2nd opinion, you'll know what you want. I already think you want the H because you took a perfectly good ITR and dumped the C5 block for a 2.0L. You my friend like displacement, I think your just scared to abandon the familiarity of the B to delve into the unknown (or little known) H.
Whatever you choose, just make sure that at the end of the day, when your foot hits the gas to the floor, you involuntarily smile at the result.

H all the way the potential power in the H22A engines is greater...

hittin 204whp and 166 ft lbs of torque out of the box...i/h/e jdm h22a...isn't something you will see out of the box with a B...

throwing JDM FACTORY FLYWHEEL HP ratings into an allmotor forum is assinine. god damn, your whole post is a coat hanger abortion at best.

this is exactly why finding good info on honda tech is like digging through an entire septic tank of ****, looking for the wedding band you flushed down the toilet last week.

i see this turning into an H vs B thread very soon.

I have to agree, the H would beat on that B all day long... I'm curious as to what's wrong with your motor also since it only produced 210whp fully built... I would say to find out how the h was built... and by whom, and then make your decision. I wouldn't go from a reliable motor to an unreliable one, but if the H is built well, then this is really a no-brainer. Way more potential in the H, especially in a street car.

i agree... if this is your dd stick with realialble, unless you got the money go wih the frank, but if you dont, just sell your fully built set up and build your own h build... or just keep building your b series... but just remember h= more power possibilities, b= good power plus " respect and heart ".....
