Ep3 K20 question
What is the difference between the Ep3 k20 block and the Rsx-S Block???
I want to buy the Ep3 and put a Rsx head and someone told me that the ep3 block isnt a good choice. That i have to buy the whole type-s or type-R engine..
That is the only reason that i havent bought the ep3....

the ep3 has the k20a3 block i believe and has like a 9.1:1 compression ratio? and 160 hp and the rsx type s has the k20a2 or k20z1(05-06) and has a 11.1:1 compression ratio and has 200 -210 hp.
K20A3 is 9.8:1
You *can* do a head swap (use A3 block with A2 head) but it doesn't work as well as the old B-series motors and I wouldn't go down that path ... you really need all the internals of the A2 to get some power out of it.
You're best bet for results and less headache would be to buy a complete K20A2 or K20A swap!
This question has been asked time and time again ... use the search function!

do not quote me, but i think the bolt pattern for the heads are different so you cant swap heads....but jerremy from inline pro found out how to make the vtc style cams work with the k20a3....i know he posted up the how to on k20a.org but im not sure if he posted it up here...it can be done but i'd rather have a type s or a 2.4 liter block to start out with
