knocking noise
Hey whats up guys .... my friend actually aint ridin with an H badge
.. supercharged eclipse but i think this is a fairly generic question in term's of all vehicles.
when the car drives under load, there is a very loud knocking noise that comes from the front passenger side of the car. you can actually feel it vibrate throughout the car. it almost feels like the wheel was mounted crooked. I checked out his suspension.. seems fine nothing broken.. axles seem ok, and wheel is now mounted on correctly. all brake mechanisms tie rods control arms are in working order and show no signs of damage or improper allignment. car still makes the noise however. i also checked his motor mounts and it seems like he needs a new passenger side mount but im not sure this is the cause of the problem.. the mount is damaged pretty bad but the motor seems very stable despite the damage. any ideas? the sound also SOUNDS consistent with tire rotation.. i emphasize sounds because the sound is only apparent when the car is under load.. so im not sure if its that.. please help!! thanks

I'm in for a vote of damaged/going bad CV joint or a wheel bearing. I know at first thought you may think "wouldn't it do it with rotation regardless of being under load?" but when my Subbies CV joints went bad it only did it when I would initially hit the gas and keep on it, so just a thought.
yea maybe i was thinkin that 2 considering my axle is done .. but i was kinda shying away from it .. the noise doesnt seem to change due to turning or anything but ur right probably still a good possibility.. boots were still good tho.. iuno we'll check it thanks
