Will a clutch from a ys1 tranny work on a 99 si tranny? there is no transmission forum so i dont know were to ask this. thanks

yes...as far as i know...all b-series trannnies have interchangeble clutch and flywheels...in fact..my s1..obd0 tranny has an exedy stage 1 clutch meant for 96+ Si's

but there may be some wierd non-compatibilty issue with the pressure plates...since the cable tranny pressure plates are designed for cable actuated clutch disengagement and the newer b-series USDM trannies are hydraulic actuation..thats why my clutch is a bitch to press in ...i'm using a hydraulic tranny pressure plate...with a cable....but i'm not too sure of this....

If you go to an aftermarket clutch supplier website, I believe you will find the specs on the pressure plate + disc are identical. The only difference should be the release bearing.
