Default Got a couple of pics of my nu project.....91 Crx Si.

This is my nu proj...I just installed some tokico blues w/skunk2 CO's and strut bars. The rims are from my 99 si, (temporary until I can decide on what rims to get). The only mods so far are the Tanabe RM and a K&N drop in. I just changed all the fluids and put in some NGK plugs and wires. I still havent decided on the route for the enigine yet.....nothing too special yet. So, what do you guys think?

The TRM is also from off my 99 Si, I had my local muffler shop custom make me a b-pipe.

I'm glad you think so GSR....not everyone will like the "japanese" style mounting but I like it. It's different and adds a little character to the car.

Basically, I held the cannister where I wanted and he designed to piping to match.

oh, hahhahahha

...so, i see this on Supras/RX7s... makes sense cause it reduces a bend in the exhaust (since the exhaust piping has to run over the rear driveaxles)...but on an ED8/9... looks horrible imho. it's like you got the wrong part for the car.

Besides you not liking to looks. Is your point that it is more restrictive to mount it this way?

seems like your taking all the parts off your 99 Si!
put the motor in it too!
and paint the wheels and take the center caps out!

Well, if you want to eliminate restriction, you would have it just dump on the left (passenger) side, rather than have it bent to dump on the right (driver) side...

the big boy turbo cars do it to reduce restrictions and the amount of bends... ED8/9 owners do it for the looks...

lol...Just ED8/9? What about ef eg ek dc owners....performance only?

Anyways, I don't mind your opinion, but the bend for the stock and most crx exhausts are much more severe. Besides i'm not going FI, and the horsepower gain/loss is negligible.

I already had it, I pulled it off of the Civic Si. Paid 80 for custom piping. But when I bought it new 2 years ago, I think I paid in the neighborhood of 450 to 480.

as far as i can tell his setup eliminates one bend and reduces another which i do see as an improvment.

is it possible to fit an entire muffler straight back behind the rear suspension?

thats one less bend.. but since you have a canister mufler, why not get a little smaller one, and mount it on the right side, straight out? 2 less bends. thats how it is on my 1st gen crx...

let me try to get the idea across:

I see some people with the straight-back exhaust but it looks weird when the opening is on the other side.

Thanks for the responses guys. Ultimately, it's up to you, how you want your car to look regardless of what others say but, it's nice to know that it is appreciated by others.

Yeah...it's starting to grow on me. It has a clean look to it. I'll have to buy another set to throw on the civic when I sell it.
