For Sale: 89 Accord DX
Well guys, it's time for me to sell my car. I have kind of lost the interest in "tuning" my car. Due to the fact that it hasn't run properly in a long time, it's not bringing me any joy anymore. It just sits. I have also just bought a house and would definitely appreciate the extra money. I will list modifications, known problems, extra parts, show pics, and list the asking price. I've put a lot of time, money, and sweat into this car. I've loved owning the car, just kind of lost the desire due to starting a life, etc.
Basic info
I bought the car on September 10, 2001. It had 159,000 miles on it. Currently, there are slightly over 203,000 miles on the body. The car was involved in 2 accidents while I owned it. The first was just body damage which I fixed and had the entire car painted at Maaco. This was 2002. The paint is still glossy and is sticking rather well for a Maaco job. There are a few nicks, etc. but that's mostly it (more on that later). About 2 years after that, I wrecked head on into a brick pillar at about 10-15 mph. I busted up the bumper, hood, radiator, and pushed the radiator back slightly. This was repaired by a body shop and looks pretty good. The hood is slightly misaligned but it was like that the day I bought it. It can probably be straightened out, I just never took the time to do it. This past winter while my car was parked at my mom's, someone, whether doing construction on her shed or the snow plow guy, rubbed up against the driver side and put a pretty lengthy dent in the side. It starts at the gas door and runs about halfway up the to the door. The paint at the gas door is chipped down to the old coat of paint so there's no exposed metal but i never touched it up. It's not peeling at the moment but should be addressed. I got an estimate to fix the damage of $700 and something dollars. Other than that, the body is pretty straight, just the typical rust at the rear wheel wells which for it's age is not that bad. I've seen newer Hondas with more rust.

Known Problems
The oil pressure gauge continues to read way too low. Since my bearing clearances were checked at .0015", I am leaning toward an inaccurate reading on the gauge or a dying oil pump. I have an extra gauge that I borrowed to check with but have never found the time to do so. I also have an extra oil pump to try out as well. I would suggest trailoring the car to reduce any damage that may be caused by driving it. One of the front lower control arms is bent, however the radius rod on that side was shimmed to get the caster back to normal. I have replacement control arms but have never installed them. The car needs an alignment due to the fact I've had the suspension apart several times since the last one and pulls to the left slightly. One of the shifter bushings is totally deteriorated so there is a lot of slop in the shifter. A new bushing should clear that up no problem. I also believe the trunk has a slight leak to it. I've found it wet on a few occasions but never tracked down where it might be coming from.
Extra Parts
2 B16 blocks
2 B16 cranks (scored main journals)
1 set of B16 pistons with rods
1 set of B16A3 cams (Del Sol VTEC)
1 set of JDM B16 cams (Civic SiR)
1 N1 Civic Type R pulley
Crimestopper Alarm with door lock actuators (never installed)
SE-i rear disk brake conversion with proportioning valve (never installed)

1 set of 14" steel wheels with almost new tires

Axxis Metal Masters brake pads for 88-89 LX-i front brakes (will not fit on current front knuckles)
I'm sure there's more but I don't remember right now
I am asking $3700 for this car and all the extra parts. However, I am flexible. Everything 3G Accord related will go with it. I have several repair manuals, etc. as well. I absolutely will not part this car out. If you don't want it the way it is, move along to the next for sale thread. I do not need to sell the car but like I said before the money would be nice.
EDIT - Since I'm a spirited guy, I'll make a special Christmas sale. $3000 will take it.
