Default Should I keep my S2 S2 cams?

I currently have Skunk2 Stage2 cams, pro series cam gears, Skunk2 valve train. I am thinking of getting new cams but not sure if I should. I know I am looking at a pretty good amount of money. I am already getting the car dyno tuned in February. What do you recommend? And if you recommend something please explain. Thanks for the help.

I'm only assuming its a relatively stock GSR (according to the power made in sig)

I'd say stay with them or even go down to Stage1

I don't have a whole lot of power but it is also untuned. I am wanting to build a strong all motor project. But because I'm not a baller I am building it slowly. So I don't want to go down a stage if anything I am considering going up.

It looks like a compression increase in needed to really appreciate those cams. Try some pistons, JDM P73's or P30's this should get 11.3~11.6 range. Those cams would really come alive. Tuning would be another huge benefit to you set up. You have a nice hp number but you torque # is about 10 low for your set up. When you mean slow, is that like $1000 every year or what?

I am trying to get up enough money to get some P30's, rings, rods, wristpins arp rod bolts, etc. I want that all done at the same time as my tune if it is possible.

As far as slow, I have a wife in college and an 18 month old son. I spend a few thousand on my car a year but I have to take care of the family first.

This stuff will be done with my tax return in February.

Bigger cams does not always mean more power. But anyway I'd just keep the stage 2s and you need to work on a couple things: more compression, better header, and TUNE!

I am in the process of looking for pistons as we speak, they will be put in in Feb when I get my new header and get the car tuned.

As far as pistons go, I plan on doing P30's do I need new rods, wrist pins, rod bolts? are can I just get pistons, rings, and HG?

all you'll need are pistons rings and a HG...also have your block re-honed if it's not going to be bored before you put it back together if you want those new rings to seat properly. Check out ebay and look up Nippon pistons...they have pr3 sets with pins and rings for good deals.

Probably going to go with Hmotors for the pistons or somewhere else my brother delt with (don't remember will call). I am planning on boring .25 if I do swap the pistons. I am also thinking about changing the crank to an LS with LS rods for LSV. What do you think about that?

i think the money of upgrading to an LS rods/crank could be spent on something better...the gains will be minimal. and the R/S ratio on the GSR is better. **flamesuit intact**

What would you reccomend me spending the money on vs the crank and rods? Actually the rods. I already have a crank. And if I am correct the ls crank and rod will be LSV right?

I don't mind, the other people that do a full B build spend the same if not more. And no, not till the next motor comes out and the K parts get cheap or I start making more money at my current job.
