timing is off hel me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default timing is off hel me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my motor fire because my timing is off. the cams are set at top dead center but the lines on the side don't match up. do i need to turn one?

yes, set the motor to #1 TDC on the compression stroke (crankshaft pulley marks should line up with the timing cover mark, loosen tensioner and line up cam marks, tighten tensioner and crank car, reset TDC and check marks again.

no i just talking about the TDC on the cam gears.
how come when the dots are at the top the lines don't match up
what one should i adjust.

but then the TDC dots at the top will be off. is that fine?

and when setting the block to TDC is there a difference for compression stroke and exhaust stroke when no timing belt is on?

No, top dead center refers to piston 1 being at the top.

1) put piston 1 on tdc
2) loosen up your tensioner
3) take off your timing belt
4) adjust your cam gear so they line up, to the head and each other
5) put the timing belt back on
6) tighten your tensioner

timing should be right

tdc is when the single dash on the crank shaft pulley is lined up

dots at the top or dots facing each other towards the inside

neither of those cam marks are even with the head. Looks like if the engine rotated just slightly, both marks would line up good.

wen working on the timing belt, dont you have 2 dismount the engine mounts ???

i thought on B-series there are some kind of pin hole son the back side of the cams to stop them from moving.

there is..all i did was stuck something in them snuggled and that keep the cams in place..worked fine..dead on..
