Default Re: tranny fluid (JdM_RACeR07)

theres a 17mm fill bolt on the side of the tranny. thats where you fill, use a pump from below or a long tubed funnel from the top to add fluid. fill until the excess oil starts to drip out, thats your limit.

to drain, you open the bolt at the bottom with a 3/'8 square. use a 3/8 ratchet without a socket to open it.

of course you drain before you fill. but make sure you DO NOT DRAIN until youve loosened the fill bolt. VERY IMPORTANT. that fill bolt is EXTREMELY difficult and will strip. YOU MUST USE A 17mm 6-PT CLOSED END WRENCH. no 12pt, definately not an open end crescent. it WILL strip otherwise. so make sure its on good an tight and do whatever you can to torque that sucker. use your legs if you need to.

it takes just under 2 qts to fill. go to the dealer and get honda MTF.
