My 99 civic is having power window problems. The window will not work. It started a few weeks ago where it would just not work once in a while. The motor would not make any weird sounds or go slow or anything. It would just maybe roll down then not roll back up until i started my car again, or not roll down at all then it would work the next time i got in the car. It is almost like there is a short or something. The motor is not grinding or going out. It just won't do anything right now. Any suggestions?

 

just try to replace the motor and go from there.

I've had the problem on my del ol where it would only work once in a while and it finnaly went out yesterday and I couldn't roll my window up. I thoght that it was the motor but it ended up just being the relay.
Give the motor direct power, if it works then its the relay.

 

My first guess would be the switch or the motor. the brass reed connections that they use on those switches can get black soot like crud built up on them that screws up the connection. if it were the relay then you would be having the same problem with all windows since they all share the same relay.
