Default Stuffed a Yellowtop D31A in my 6th gen 4 banger

Yep thats right, 900 CCA for a 4 cylinder. Why? Because I want my car to start no matter what, period. My car started cranking like **** yesterday morning and I went and picked it up at summit for 265 after tax. I found it on ebay for 190 so I'm going to switcharoo then return it at summit, save some bucks. I had to grind down the battery tray, relocate the catch can for radiator fluid, but it really didn't cost anything in parts to install except my grinder I already had, zip ties, and a longer hose to the can. If you want instructions I'll be happy to give them out. Battery barely fits but hood prop still squeezes in and hood closes, I'll have pics tonight.

While you were at summit you should've just bought a battery relocation kit.

I've heard that alot but I also believe its better than that junk at autozone. What batteries to you guys recommend for starting in coldest of weather and for car audio, I've only heard of some other batteries with grossly overrated amperage, anybody know of some professional tests comparing the two?

Gel-cel. basically instead of having flat plates like most automotive batteries, the plates are wrapped around in a spiral. which is what gives the optima a different looking shape, u can see the 6 round cell's in it.

Optimas are good batteries, dont get me wrong, but not worth the price imo.

Extensive use of yellow, widely known to be the fastest/most X-treme of all colors.

Seriously, they are a bit lighter and supposedly stronger. That said, I used a "Gold" Autozone battery that got the hell abused out of it in a 1975 Volvo with a dicey alternator. The thing was $40, and I have a hard time immagining an Optima doing more than that old tortured battery did, and it was still strong as new 2 years later when I sold the car.

Mostly a bling thing unless you are relocating. Then being sealed makes it better to work with.
