I have an ss 5th gen. When from a dead stop or low mph if i press the gas its like its in neutral. Then all of a sudden it Will bit then kinda loose and bit again. Its like I was driving a manual and tried to give gas with clutch in and pulled off. My car is like rocking when this happens. Its like it wants to stall but idk. Do you think its the transmission? Is it time for the swap. Constantly read about the unreliability of the auto tranny. Im just scared to drive it right now. Let me know what you guys think

I bought the car with 127k on it... it has close to 131 now. I dont know if the transmission fluid had been changed before I got it. Could this be the problem? I also got a quote on all the parts I need for my swap...its gunna be $1300. I think I can work them down because its a junkyard. Parts have 45k on them.

Thx, does $1300 sound about right for the materials. I might tell them to take out the master n slave clylinder etc. and just buy them new. I think they are around like $50 or 100 new. Any other advise on what I should just go ahead and buy new? Thx

Yea I mean I guess its about right. I believe I read somewhere that you can usualy get all the parts for like under $1000. I dont realy care anymore tho.. I just know this has to get done. I will make a thread w/pictures through out the hole process so others can see. Oh and the $1300 comes with everything including the pedals and the odometer etc. Tis time
Yeah man, I hope everything turns out ok for ya.
I know how it feels when crap breaks down and money is tight. It feels like life just sucks at that point. I myself just bought a beater and just literally DAYS after it starts having problems and giving me weird sounds...Hondas are so easy to fix in comparison to stupid toyotas...
I have a small pity for anyone who owns an auto 5th gen, because things like this will happen. And when people on craigslist say "AT and shifts like a dream!"...I just wanna knock them one...
Good luck.
