hey guys, can someone give me some help here? it was recommened that i change my trannie fluid becuase my car was sitting for about 5 years before i bought it. i noticed that when i drive, the trannie changes it's gears roughly... especially 2nd gear. my trannie is automatic. i have a 1990 honda accord dx. someone told me that if i take the transmission fluid out, the trannie will DIE after about 10 miles... my question is directed to someone who has actually had experience changing their trannie fluid on a 90 accord dx with an automatic trannie.... IS IT OK TO DRAIN THE OLD TRANSMISSION FLUID OUT OF MY CAR AND PUT NEW FLUID IN IT?
YES CHANGE THE TRANS FLUID; Drain it and clean off the magnet on the drainplug, put in 3 quarts of Honda Z-1 ATF. If you are a first time Honda owner you might be feeling the Positive Pressure Shift.
Hondas of those years ARE NOT like GM they don't have that mushy SH*T shift. They have positive pressure on the clutch pack to engage faster and have less clutch plate wear.

look for something like this under your car...a Socket should fit right in. all the fluid should drain out..http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/5002/dsc046194le.jpg
