Default new exhaust but room for improvement?

I just got my custom catback installed, seems a little loud, looking for feedback/ideas, here's the setup.

91 Integra LS, 155k
Installed: AEM FPR, BLOX IM, MSD Wires/Cap/External Coil, JG Bored 62mm TB, CAI, AEM alt. pulley (+ full suspension).
Sitting in garage awaiting install: Crower 404's cams, AEM cam gears, Apexi VAFC, AEM pwr. str. pulley, unorthodox crank pulley.

Exhaust: DC Sports 4-2-1 header, magnaflow 2.25" cat, 2.25" piping, 22" resonator, magnaflow street (14 X 5 X 8 oval).

FYI - Many of the mods listed are to fully take advantage of the future cam install.

The exhaust setup was based on significant research and feedback on my NA build. The goals: (1) of course increased flow, (2) especially staying as quiet as possible. My research led me to believe that keeping in the cat, adding a 22" resonator (replaced shorter stock one), and using a magnaflow street would meet the flow needs of my build while staying quiet.

I didn't really meet goal # 2. Options include adding another resonator or putting in a 30" resonator to replace the 22". Ideas on why its loud? Feedback? Ideas for quieting? Thanks in advance.

Instead of spending money on more resonators, I would consider getting a quieter exahust/muffler like a twin loop, or an ITR.

goal 1) dump the dc header and get one that makes good power.

actually, I was impressed by the added power this custom catback gave me. I've noticed significant gains on the butt dyno and the cars pulls stronger over the entire RPM range. While a 4-1 header might have given me more gains at the top end with my Crower 404's in, I can't realize most of that anyways with a 6,500 redline. The point is to make the system more quiet, I'm not switching the header at this point.

oh, and I got that header used for $20, the resonator and muffler for $75, the 2.25" mandrel bent pipe for free, and the cat for $40 = $135 total cost.

I'd say, short of getting a chambered muffler (which would not help with your intended power goals), try to fit the longest resonator you possibly can underneath there.

aside from that, look for bigger mufflers. the bigger the muffler is, the more sound insulation there is, which would lead to a quieter exhaust note.

also, I'm not so sure a twin loop would help a whole lot...yeah, the exhaust passes through the muffler twice, but the muffler itself isn't very big. also, not all of the cheaper imitation twin-loops are quiet.

it was only a suggestion. there are a couple tri y 4-2-1 headers out now that make awesome power.
