My dash lights in the night time go a little dim while the car is at idle. If i give it a shot of gas they will brighten up again and they also stay bright while the car is driving. Same thing with the headlights. I have only noticed this since the weather has gotten cold. What could cause this? Car has new battery and alternator.

mayb you got ripped off on the battery and alternater. check the battery termnals to see if their tight.

 

Tonight when i was driving home from work the head/dash lights went real dim, then a belt started screeching. I am guessing i just need a new alternator belt? I dont think it was replaced when the alt. was.

 

double check with your alternator cause it sounds like it. are you draining power for a sound system maybe?
