cabin filter??
I am going to say that it is behind the glove box, I believe that the center lower console and the side panel of the dash (open the passenger door) and the passenger knee bolster need to be removed or have to be slightly disassembled then remove the entire glove box. You may have two filters stacked on top of each other. You may also have the option to upgrade to better hepafilters for better pollen control if your family needs it.
This was fact on a '98.

Most newer models only require that the glovebox door be dropped down. Squeeze the plastic clips on the door stops on each side of the glovebox to release and remove them. The door will swing down. You will see the blower housing and a flap you can easily remove without tools. This exposes the filters. Pull the first one out and slide the second one over to remove it.
