Bore my throttle body?
Im rebuilding a gsr motor and was wondering if anyone had any info on boring the stock throttle body. Such as cost, power gains, ht sponsors that do it? Would i have to bore my im to match the tb?
any decent machine shop should be able to do it....just make sure you don't overbore it and jump up like 8mm......and also, yes, the throttle body should be port-matched to the intake manifold.....theres is no reason to have a wider opening at the throttle body reduced by the inlet of the manifold, it will squander the airflow at the point where the TB matches up the IM
Awesome, thx. What would be a good mm to bore to? Its merely a mild street driven gsr. Nothing wild... also, how much should i expect to pay? Power gains?
ricer thing?
he wants some more power. every "bolt-on" counts on hondas.

Yeah, and i plan on port matching the im... this is all after i get cams to compliment the added airflow of course

The stock bore on the TB is 60mm at the throttle plate for a GSR. My stock IM has a 62mm bore (others could differ, but I doubt it). When I installed the 62mm TB, I centered it with my finger and the lip was virtually imperceptible.

Take a look at this,

They offer new bigger throttle bodies at a great price. They seem pretty good too. But I haven't had any first hand experience, so I can not fully comment on them. But it may be worth looking into.
