Its like a sqealing noise. It only does it in reverse and seems to be coming from the drivers side. Anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? Its an auto if that helps.

If its normal then why has it never done it before. I bought the car with 16,000 miles on it , it now has 70,000 and it just recently started doin that

if you have a manual tranny, the car will make a high pitched 'whining' noise when you go pretty fast in reverse, like over 5mph or somethign.

he has an auto and I dont think it is normal. I have never heard an auto doing that before.

 

Does it make the noise when you're sitting still in R, or only when you're moving? Does it's pitch change with speed?

 

check your rear brake pads, the squeal or "dumbass, change me sensor' is going into effect

 

could be a wheel bearing too... or maybe the Arospeed BOV flexing it's mAd sKiLlZ in reverse y0! (j/k)

It does not do this when sitting still only when moving and its not the whining noise you all are talking about it does that to and that is normal but this sounds more like a metal to metal sqealing noise, What do you all think? Brake pads were just changed .

 

Probably your wheel bearings.
