HID kit on JDM replica headlights
hey ya'll!
i'm thinking about putting the real HID kit on my JDM black housing (replica), and i was just wondering if it's safe to put 'em on, because i've heard that it might cause to melt the housing or something due to the higher temperature from the HID kit.
please advise! i would like to hear from peeps who has the JDM replica headlights with HID kit.
thanks bunch! :D

depo makes blackhousing si-r style lights for the 5g accord. the cutoff/pattern on the depos is far better than the oem usdm, so imo, you'll get better output with a hid retro in the depos.
also, the replicas have a lhd beam pattern, so they're better than real jdms for hid retro

I used to have one Depo healight on my car, and the beam pattern was not as good as OEM, plus the headlight tarnished and became yellow within a few months. The car looked like it had cataracts.

you need to adjust the beam pattern yourself and you also need to wash your headlamps when they are dirty...

Not what I'm talking about. Don't worry, I'm not an *******, I've done enough reseearch and experimenting about lighting systems on cars to know what I'm talking about.
It is the plastic lens itself that turned yellow, as if it had been exposed to intense UV rays in a prolonged length of time. There was nothing I could do, even try and plishing the finish with compound didn't do it. I had to replace it and go back to Stanley sealed beams.
