99 civic si bogging at low rpm when warm
I just had a valve job done on my 99 si and it is bogging down when it warms up to normal operating temp. I can feel the power picking up at about 4500 rpm. The valves are adjusted right. it throws a check engine light saying that it is running rich. any Ideas.
from what u are saying it sounds like u might have a few bent valves, if its running too rich then the valves arent closing properly.
I had similar issues with a 99si, mine... Not sure why it would be doing that with bent valves only when warm.. SOOOO what fixed mine was plugs and wires... the plugs moreso than the wires. Before this... which might also be applicable, was a worn distributor cap and rotor... (it blew apart on the highway, but before that it was making low RPM power peaky and non existent)
the plugs should have been replaced when They did the valve job and I don't know why it would be the distributer because the problems started after the valve job...the guys in the shop are stumped too
