Default Misfires

Ok I've replaced my spark plugs, wires, dist. cap, and rotor 3 times and I'm still getting the stupid Misfire. I can hear it sitting at an idle (car is even idling weird). It throws the check engine light occassionally but not always. The only thing I've done to my car in the last 3 weeks is adjust the valves. Is this misfire caused by a bad valve adjustment? Also, the car is running rich or lean (the car stutters sometimes when I step on the gas). Any ideas?

A misfire could definately be caused by a bad valve adjustment. I am having a misfire problem right now too because my ignition coil and igniter are arcing together intermittently and it always happens between 2-3k and it seems like it almosts wants to die. How many miles are on your car? Coils are known to go bad in hondas and cause misfire problems. I would check your valve specs first... then go to the coil then the igniter.

The Car itself has 67,243 miles on it (2,000 after a rebuild and 500 miles after valve adjustment).

Other than the valves, what else could it be (incase the valves aren't the source of the problem)?

If your valve clearance job was done poorly your motor will fall on its face and sound like its running on a dead cylinder or two....

have you check what the check engine code is? I am pretty sure is code number 9. I am have somewhat the same problem. I throw code 9 sometimes and my car misfires alot, which means one of the distributor sensor is done. What rotor did you get? aftermarket? Be careful with the one you choose, most of the aftermarket ones are not insulated and cause arcking in the distributor and burn your sensors. Also recheck you gaps on the cams.
Peace

I'm getting codes 72 and 74 My car was acting strange before I changed out the plugs/wires/rotor/cap so I thought that was the problem.....wrong. Still have the problem after changing everything 3 times.
