hole for water... what is it for?

hole for water... what is it for?
ok this is on my gsr block. there is a hole just below the hard water pipe on the back of the block. where does this go to? it is just along side of the oil filter

You're missing the factory oil cooler sandwich plate. That hole feeds or receives water from the oil cooler.
Scroll down to the bottom... you can see a black hose leading from that location.
