Camber correction kits
I am looking for camber kits, and i was wondering which setup is better, the style with the adjustment at strut tower or the style that has the adjustable ball joint. I haven't been able to find wether one is better than the other so i figured i would ask for some help. Sry if this sounds like a dumb question.
Well each one is different. The one with the adjustment at the ball-joint is easier to adjust, but the one that adjusts at the chassis mount bushings offers better clearance for the UCA. In my opinion there is no winning with front camber kits on street cars. If you reduce your negative camber, your effectively bringing your UCA closer to the chassis. This means it's gonna bottom out much sooner than it did before. This will either ruin your UCA, or your shock tower. The lesson is, don't lower your street car too much (stay -2.5" or less) and get an alignment afterward. A little extra negative camber is a good thing for handling purpose. And as long as your toe settings are spot-on, you won't have to worry about tire wear...
On a race car however, camber adjustment is necessary to keep tire temps even. And since you don't have to worry much about pot-holes on the track, the loss of UCA clearance is acceptable...
