Ok, on semi-cold (40-60 Degrees) days/mornings/afternoons/evenings my car sometimes (not always) makes a squealing noise on startup. it screeches a lot and it sounds really bad. but it goes away after i step on the gas for a second. i originally thought it was my belt until i had one of my friends start it up while i was looking at the engine bay. the squealing actually came from beneath the intake manifold. i now think its the clutch but i am not sure. any advice would be really helpful.

 

im bettin on the belt, if not that then the starter.

 

if a noise like that was coming from the clutch, you'd probably notice a prob while driving. i agree that it's most likely a belt.

 

tighten your belts (or change them if its been a while). Clutch is not beneath the intake manifold.
