So i just got an 02 rsx-s about 3 months ago but today i realized i can afford a s2000, so i jumped on the oppurtunity and found one. Im going to look/test drive it tomorrow. Just wondering if theres anything in particulaer to listen or look for because I know on my rsx theres the notorious gear grind an i just want to make sure the s2000 has nothing like that. thanks

2000 with 61k on it.

 

Check for these:

-Taillight recall TSB
-Axle nut TSB
-Half-shaft joint condition
-Compression and leakdown
-Buzzing clutch TSB
-Notchy 1-2 shift
-Softtop/plastic condition

Honda will do a complete inspection for you if you take the car there. Mention those points. And Carfax of course.

-Maintenance history
-overall car looks (see how well owner takes care of the car, wax, scratches, dents, etc...)

 

If it's a private sale; take a look at the house.
If its a **** hole of a house like dirty and not well taken care of
then chances are the car has been bagged and the owner
has rejected to take care of the car.
