indeed, this question just had Ebay written all over it They can claim grade A all they want, doesn't mean it'll hold together well

you're just full of contradictions aren't you?

you want a cheap hood, you're gonna get bad quality. easy as that.

where's the contradiction? cheap hood? go to ebay, that's a duh. And I've seen generic brand CF hoods rated as "grade A rolled edge" then read in forums later that hoods advertised as such split while driving or don't fit perfectly.

the grading system means NOTHING! There is no set system. They are starting to have a manufacturing grade system.

Grade 1 meaning open mold (most hoods out there)

Grade 2 -- vacuum bagged -- A better hood then open molding

Grade 3 -- vacuum infused -- one of the best processes, I use this and so does AITracing.com

Grade 4 --- Pre-preg hoods (out of most peoples price range)

The reason it has not caught on yet is because most carbon companies don't want to be known for using the lowest manufacturing process

grade 1 is what seibon uses. But to be cheap you have to use cheap methods, not meaning cheap materials. They use very good carbon but pretty cheap resin
