Has anybody ever fixed there IAC valve problem? 2000 boosted ex
I have a 2000 Civic EX with a edelbrock turbo kit and other mild performance upgrades. I bought the car in September, and three weeks later the code went off for the first time. Since then I have checked the iac by cleaning and making sure it opens and closes, installed new wire to the valve to the computer reset the computer many times, and replaced the computer. It will run fine for about three weeks as long as i dont let it idle for more than 2 min. As soon as the check engine light comes on it will run like hell and I will un-plug the computer for 20 min or sometimes over night and let it idle for about 30 min and it is back to fine. Does anyone know any other methods that have actually worked. I have looked through a lot of posts and no one updates them with actual results. I see some people replace the valve which is expensive and still does not fix the problem. I have not purchased a brand new one yet because of this. Please help and thank you in advance.
i had a similar problem. All i did was put a steel plate between the manifold and the iac. it is basically blocking the iac. My car idles perfect now.
Probably isn't the issue, but there is a pin that needs to be switched in some applications. I believe it goes from 12->14, or the other way around.. just an idea.
I had a similar issue, and it turned out to be a combination of faulty wiring and bad ECU's ( I believe the faulty wiring fried both ECU's :/ )

Is that something that's done when you go from OBD2 to OBD1???

I've tried three IACV and all had same crappy results, surging idle and check engine light. I even had MASE tune my car and try to fix it and it still didn't work.
Only think I haven't done is tried another ECU cause I have hondata with 1000cc injectors and I do not know anyone else who does to try their ecu.
I gave up and unplugged the IACV, Idles fine now, but cold startup sucks ***!!!!
