Pulled My Tranny Today
I pulled my tranny this afternoon to get it ready to put a clutch, flywheel and itr tranny in tomorrow. My clutch disc had nothing left to it. It was just dust. I pulled it myslef, it seemed to go quick and really didnt have any probems. Ive done it quite a few times before. Here are some pics of the old clutch disc, and the rest of its components. I cant wait to put a new one in and have fun driving again. Ill prolly have some pics up of my new tranny, clutch and flywheel and of the install.

Big teggie, if you don't mind me asking, how did you pull the tranny out by yourself? I mean that thing is frigging heavy. More power to you, if you're stronger than the Rock, but any helpful hints you want to share? I will be dropping my beater's tranny in the next few weeks... I need all the help that I can get.
p.s. are you putting the tranny in by yourself too?

I honestly dont know how i got it off myself so easily. It took me like 3 hours, and i was taking my time. Its all about having the right tools and working effiecntly. It came off so easy to compared to other trannys i have taken off, and ive done quite a few. They are heavy but i am kinda big, and seem to not have much of a problem moving it. I just put a few peices of thick foam rubber and then pulled the tranny of the block and let it down on the rubber. Then i just slided it out. I wish my buddy tom was around to help. It stinks working by yourself having no one to talk to.
It can be done with a floor jack
Craig - Who was going to do it when he got bored one night, but got drunk instead
PS Cos, give me a call if you need any help with the tranny

Big Teggie: Your car is nice! OT but did you spray paint your spark plug cover to gunmetal? Let us all know the difference between trannies etc...i'm very interested in doing a tranny swap as my next mod. Keep up the good work!

StinkTofu- I painted it with generic flat black spraypaint. It has been painted for liek 6 months now, and is holding up fine.
I will have an update when i get the tranny in and clutch broken in.

i was thinking the same thing. i've done it plenty of times myself....and i'm not the biggest of people at only 175lbs. Hardest part is actually putting it back in place alone due to ligning up the pins and the tranny doesn't lay flat on the jack at the same time it ligns up with the block.
oh...and i don't know if it is or not....but is that blood? and if it is....it wasn't an EASY 3hours...lol.

my fat 230lb *** usually drops tranny in 1/2hr and back up in about 15-20 mins unless that bitch spline doesnt wanna align... this is in CRX and 90-93 Integra with cross member ... not as easy as 5g+ civic and 3g+ integra... most of the time spent on the tranny jobs is to open up, install LSD and final drives, check clearances, etc... that takes the longest, then I gotta take a break for Wendy's combo number 6 with small chili.
hey Lip, Yau traded in his S2K for the new M3 ... damn thats nice !!!
