A second Chance at Inegra Ownership, GSR here we come!!!!
why are you looking for a gsr? what are your intentions for the car? What are you trying to do with it? If you want a fast car that handles well, why don't you just buy a fast car from the factory instead of buying a slow car and trying to make it fast.
Why such hostility; maybe he's just a big fan of the Integra line. He's buying it for the same reason millions of other buyers purchase their cars "because it interests him". Honestly I think your old LS was about as nice as they get. I purchased a 98 last year w/71k on it in one of the rarest colors you can find and I wouldn't trade it in for the world. I had a GSR before I had my LS but a lady thought it'd be nice to sideswipe me and total it. If I had the chance I still would've had that GSR till this day. You'll enjoy that car, take care of it.
Good luck on the buy

It was a 1998 LS Silver with Black interior owned by a 36 year old teacher and had "No major accidents" and less than 84K miles, I had plans to boost and was duped into thinking that the b18b was a "better motor" for boost purposes....
</TD></TR></TABLE>
How do you figure? Lower compression motors are always better for boost. It's a trade off really..
Higher compression = less boost w/o work
Lower compression = more boost w/o work
Keep in mind both engines are "stock" and cant be punished too much but nevertheless, each can be ran safely w/ boost and a very good tune.

This is a noob theory that Had me duped at one point.
If you compare the head side by side you see the GSR head is Way Beefy in comparison to the LS head. Also the GSR comes with a Factory block Girdle which the LS doesnt have.
The idea of Boosting a stock motor is alltogether stupid, I looked into it and decided not to invest the 5K it would cost to Do a full turbo buildup not incl labor, and getting all the top end parts at cost it didnt add up and I scraped the Idea.
If your boosting a stock motor Your rolling the dice unless your sleeeved with Better rods and pistons because the Factory rods and pistons are NOT designed for boost. then we run into NO AC and NO PS and who the F wants an acura without AC or PS? I mean its not a race car.
M
So Its actually better to boost a GSR motor than an LS, you just have to not be a noob.

Thanks bro, i'm not by any means going to tell you that you're wrong after this post. In all honesty, I dont really know all that much about boosted b series, I know about the differences between them but not really hold an interest. My interest has been in boosting my G35c. I know I have alot to learn and yes I will educate myself on that link you gave me. Thanks for the info bro!

HAHA hey patrick, I havent seen you in a long *** time, probably because it's been a minute since i've last been on here. I'm probably behind the times, but how's your green/black front teg doing? If I remember correctly, you painted it last time I heard, but not sure from then to now...

ah ahahaaha man I had the car painted and the front end is already torn up from curb scrapes and almost 70K miles of driving (since it was painted).
What it looked like in its hey-day:

240,000 miles and still going strong. I just had the original front lower ball joints and wheel bearings replaced last week as preventative maintenance.

Patrick ......
You are one of the reasons I come to this site.
I had a trunk full of water with the 98 LS
It turned out to be a leaky taillight issue instead of the sunroof drain tubes. and you really helped me along back when I was noob like a year or so ago.
I just wanted to thank you for your contribution to this site and moreover to me and my understanding of integras. Its actually the reason I bought this GSR because I knew there were OUTSTANDING individials Like YOURSELF that are kind and willing enough to help out someone who is in need of advice, so that they can understand or fix their own problem......
Patrick, You deserve and E-Pat
So there you go youve been E-patted on the back.... Thanks again bro.
Patrick, YOU ROCK!!!
