Default Intake manifold question? Searched.

Is a H22 and a H23's intake manifold the same? I think it is but I'm not 100% sure.

Edit: More importantly, doesn't the intake manifold for the H22 come with all 4 studs to bolt to the throttle body and the H23 comes with just two?

If you're asking if they'll mount to the same head, then that's a big negative. The bolt pattern is basically reversed.

The lower halfs of the IMs are different, but the IAB plate and upper plenum are the same.

Almost all H and B (maybe D?) engines have the same pattern for throttle body studs. I have a B-series TB on my H23.

Okay well the one I want to buy says its for an H22, but it only has 2 studs (like a H23). I know their the same pattern but H23's come with two studs, unmodified. I dont wana buy one for an H23 and be stuck with it.

I sent him a message asking if its a P13...

What are you talking about 2 studs? To bolt the TB on?

Yeah. I'm just trying to identify this one. It only has two studs (H23 only comes with two studs) but it says its for a H22.

Ok...I'm not trying to beat a dead horse or anything, but if the plenum is the same why do studs matter? They can be taken out or added...

Okay. I'll try and make it more clear. I know the studs dont matter. I know they can be taken out/added. The one im looking at only has two studs. H23's only come with two studs. Im trying to make sure hes not saying its a H22 intake mani, when in fact, it may be a h23 intake mani.

Gotcha ..the only way I know for sure is flange on the lower half to the head or the stamp...and I guess he's the only one who could really tell you that for sure. Personally I wouldn't gamble it on how many studs there are...good luck

the plenums are teh exact same part number for h22 and h23 so its a bad part to be using as a comparison, you will ahve to look at the lower half of the manifold if you want to determine what it came from.
