Civic Alternator and Underdrive Pulleys
My D-series alt has a 3-rib pulley & belt which will and does work with my 5-rib UR H23 crank pulley.
I really doubt the alternator pulleys are interchangable.

So you would need a civic underdrive pulley. The belt that fit the prelude crank pulley should fit a regular civic alternator pulley or underdrive ?

You would need a pulley for whatever alternator you have...B, D, etc
No the belt won't fit...how would it? Prelude belt is either a 5 or 6 rib belt plus the length is going to be different (than the one you would need for a Civic alt).
Underdrive pulleys on the accessories don't really do anything anyway so don't worry about it.

Ok, sorry if I mislead you...I thought we were talking about accessory pullies.
Use a H22/23 crank pulley with either D-alt/D-belt or B-alt/B-belt (don't think they have a B-series alt kit but whatever
). A belt with less ribs will work with a pulley with more ribs than the belt. That make sense?...

Actually the stock pulley on the alternator is a 6 rib so im fine there which is good. My question now is will it plug up ? The green plug and ring terminal that went on my stock prelude alternator should work on the civic one correct ?
The part number is 31100-PLM-A02RM.
The part number is 31100-PLM-A02RM.
Also its a 70 amp vs the stock h22 which i believe is a 90 correct ? You think i will have any problems ? I have no stereo just a flip screen and jdm fogs are the only extra draw.
As I understand it, The plug will work fine as long as the OBDs are the same (OBD1, OBD2). So a 95 or earlier Civic alt will plug up to any 95 or earlier wiring harness, and vice-versa. Correct me if I'm wrong...
is this point of the d-series alt. a weight issue? or merely cospmetic to have a little les items visible in the bay...
and how did you get the d alt. to mount to the h22/23?

less weight, less drag and gives more room for different header designs and turbo stuff.
