Default cost of LS swap?

i called a couple local wrecking yards and they quoted me like $1050 for the engine and tranny (90-91 Integra), is that a good price?

Sounds like a good deal. How many miles are on it? Is it just Engine and Transmission? I'd pick it up, cause 94-01 b18b's run around $2200.

i didnt ask how many miles were on it (honda's run forever, i bought my car at 243K ran good). he said $550 for the engine and $500 for the tranny (damn! D-series trannies can be had for $50-100, HF trannies for FREE). i was just doing some price checks, im thinking of swapping in a LS after this summer. i called a local importer or two and they said some crazy **** like $1800??? i JUST asked for the engine, i HOPE he was quoting the whole swap.
94-01 b18b's run around $2200
just for the engine??? i have a friend that bought one for like $350

I just finished my swap...B18b w/Y1 tranny (initial set up for LS/Vtec)...Long block cost me $700 (97 B18b w/ less than 40K miles) Tranny for $450. I have another LS shortblock (91 B18A) that's in the machine shop right now and I bought that for
$200. It's in bad shape, but all I need from it is the case and crank only. Looks good though after cleaning it for a couple of hours. Bought both items at a local engine dealer in South San Francisco. They may have given me a great deal but you shouldn't pay any more than $1000 for the longblock and of course whatever tranny you decide on will be added on. Good luck.

I picked my 92 LS for $1200
Engine Less then 100K
Tranny
wiring Harness
91 TEG ecu
91 Dizzy
Shift linkage
All stock mounts(not really needed)

A question about my 92?LS?tranny what is the code for this tranny...the code on my tranny is YS1 is this a stock LS tranny...It runs really high RPM's at highway speeds.

Sounds like a good deal. Got my B18B, under 35K, for $600, tranny for $350. For a complete LS 90-93 I would pay no more than $1000.

YS1 is not a stock LS, Stock LS tranny code is S1. YS1 is a very good tranny and hard to come by from what I've heard. I'm sure you can sell that for at least $600, should you decide to replace it. High rev is normal on that tranny too.

didnt bother reading what everyon else wrote but heres my breakdown on prices for me.

b18a longblock 300 bucks with ecu
ls cable tranny 260
dist 100 bucks
axles 100 bucks

miscelaneous and missing crap that always comes up when doing a swap: 1,000,000,000,000,000.00 dollars!

What is really high highway revs? I bought a 93 YS1, on the highway 80MPH, 4000 RPM. It is an LS.

That sounds a little more realistic. I wouldn't pay more than 800 for a drop out. Definately no more than a $1000 unless it has under 10,000 miles on it or something like that. I can buy a complete wrecked integra for around $1000, so they're screwing you if they charge you more than that.

So the YS1 is a LS tranny? Ok at 80MPH I am turning about 4500-5000RPM
