Default LS Engine for $650?

There's a 94+ Teg LS engine (just a basic engine, not a complete swap) @ 27000 miles for $650 for sale at a local junkyard. Just wondering if it's a good price or not? And anyone knows how much more it'll be for everything else if I could find it? Or anyone have EVERYTHING for a complete LS or LS/VTEC swap minus the engine?

That is a decent price. If you plan on using the transmission, that will definitely get your LS/VTEC project started. The throttle body and distributor should be riggable/usable & the low miles might not warrant an overbore unless you really feel the need. Good luck with the project.

i paid $700 for my 94 b18b1. that sounds right...if you are worried about the health, see if you can compression test it. also, give it a good visual inspection. if you get the tranny separate, you should try and get the gsr tranny because it is better for all motor applications. if you are going to put a turbo later, you will probably want the ls tranny for the longer gears.

Default thanks all

Thanks for all the replies. I want to do either an LS/VTEC + turbo or LS + turbo. Now that I could get the engine, looking for a tranny right now. What other parts do I need if I'm going to go pick up parts by parts like this? Or would it better just to wait for a complete swap? I'm dropping all this in an EG by the way.
