D16z6 Problem Starting! Theres Spark and Fuel!
My stock D16z6 just decided one day to not start. It keeps on cranking and not able to start. I tried replacing the igniter, ICM, Rotor and caps on the dizzy, replaced spark plugs, spark plugs wires, replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, replaced it with another P28 ECU. Theres spark and theres fuel.
I did a compression test and it was 180 across each cylinder. Check all the wiring connections to see if it was cut or unplugged. Everything seems ok. Wasnt sure what else am i suppose to check for because I think i basically checked everything i can think of.

sounds like your timing is just off. try having a buddy rotate the dist. cap while you start it. I had this problem once after replacing a clutch and it just cranked all day long without even a sputter. Hope this helps cuz it sounds like you've tried everything.

anyways yes I meant the timing was off. When you put cap back on you didnt move it at all?? I mean it's been a lil bit but I believe rotating the cap can adjust the timing?? I might just be totally off but if I remember correctly thats what I had to do. It might have been the rotor but like I said I forget. If the timing is right and you're sure dont mess with it.....besides that is your firing order right?? I'm guessing yes but I'm also grasping at straws at this point.

how do you rotate the distributor cap? you mean timing is off? no cant be, i did timing 2 weeks before it died on me. It was running really smooth before it cant start.
if the timing was off enough to make the car not start , adjusting the dizzy wouldnt be enough. try taking your timing cover off , and see if the timing marks line up properly. than make sure your firing order is correct. and than , honestly dude , try this for me although it sounds weird. try cranking it over while holding gas pedal to the floor , see if it even kicks a bit for you.
timing is right and not off. I just checked. It just keeps on cranking and not even try to kick in. I press the gas pedal down to the floor already and it still the same.
how did you test for fuel???
take out the nuts of the fuel rail and yank it back, injectors and all (back enough to see the end), make sure to hold the injectors against the rail or there will be gas on your face (i learned the hard way) and get a buddy to crank,, see if your injectors are going or not
kind of ghetto but its worth a shot

hold it to the floor dude and keep cranking it. ill tell you why i say this , i had similar prolem with my 91 civic. one day just wouldnt start. after 3 days of the car sitting there and me inquiring , myself and a couple other mechanics came to the conclusion it was flooded , oddly enough. guy told me hold it to the boards and keep cranking. after a solid minute , it kicked , sputtered , spat , than finally started , and ran great ever since , one of those things.
ok. man thats a wierd poser dude. given the fact that your getting spark and fuel and it still wont start , it has to be your dizzy dude. CPS to be exact. CPS will give you those exact symptoms. your car will still spark , but not near where its supposed to be. try putting a dizzy on it , it will work prolly. did it happen to backfire through the intake or cough at all while you were turning it over that long?
im having the same damn problem with my car. it got stolen ,it ran mint before that hapend i just got it back 3moths ago iv been busy. i put new plugs wires its not the ecu or timing im lost its got fuel and spark its a d16z6 it was putt in my 92 hatchback i put a new ignition in it to would that have something to do with it?
Pull a plug. Is it wet? If so clean your plugs and lay on the engine block, crank and check for spark. No spark...ebay yourself up a new distributor.
