yea first check the battery

then listen for your fuel pump priming...this will tell you if your main relay is working

if nothing helps here..id check the dizzy next (probably a bad ignition module)

also what kind of coil did you put in...id test it just to be sure its not bad...the msd's are notorious for killing themselves quickly

have your ignition module tested...this is also in the distrbutor and controls spark/timing/fuel and most definately can go bad as well....don't need to replace the whole distributor to fix this as it is replaceable by itself

before you spend that money on ur dizzy, you should check your main fuel relay. do a search, i think you should hear it click a total of 3 times. once when the car turned to on, once when cel goes off, and another when you try to start it. if you dont feel all 3, ur main fuel relay is bad.

also, after cranking and cranking, a cel should eventually come on. flash it and tell us what number you get. its probably either main fuel relay, bad connection somewhere, or ignitor inside the dizzy.

He already changed the coil, the ignitor or dist. are 2
possibilities.

I would take off the msd wires and put the oem ones back on.

Take the dizzy off and take a look the bearing where it connects
to the camshaft, see if there's a lot of play in it, i've seen them burn up too.

false alarm, i changed out the distributor and it work for about a day. the next morning i go out to start the car. and same ol thing. will turn over but wont start. no spark still. but one thing i got out of this was a cel. i didnt get one before. the cel is 15- ignition output signal??? im not to wise to know what that means. last summer i had replaced the ignition switch the electrical side. so im not to sure what to look for now. can somebody point me in the right direction to diagnose this problem thanks in advance

did you change the dizzy with a new one or used one? search "Ignition Output Signal ", you'll find 39 threads on it in the archives.

things point to a new igniter inside the dizzy.

This sounds like the same problem I am having. I changed the ICM first (because one of the tabs read 6 volts) and that did not work. I'll check other items today and let y'all know.

thx

MSD wires FTL....i wouldnt be surprised if these are the cause of all your probs....i hate wen companies false advertise ****...when they know its gonna f-up the motor/electrical components of the car in the long run.....but hey, try going to a junk yard and find a used one, doesnt hurt and itsss wayyyyyyyyy cheaper than buying a new one, and that not be your problem

i changed the wires back to stock. nothing still no spark or nothing. i will try another distributor. the coil is still new. plugs are only a month old. i searched for ignition output signal and read up on it. but it still confuses me. which i really dont know what im lookin for once i open up the distributor

did you try pulling the valve cover to see if maybe the timing belt is broke/off. reason i say is this just happened to my integra and it saved alot of heartache testing all the electricals lol.
