94 accord suspension problems
Several weeks ago, I posted about my 94 accord EX with 215000 miles riding rough on the interstate. Through suggestions from this forum, I changed the upper control arms, tie rod ends, rotated the tires, got an alignment, and changed cv half shaft (passenger side due to clicking when turning). All this work and expense, and nothing has changed.
There is still a clicking on the passenger side when I turn left, and at speeds over 55, it feels like the car is going to vibrate off the side of the road.
Not only is it uncomfortable to drive, but also it does not feel safe. I don't know what to do or replace. What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

Check your Lower Control arm bushings, they are probably worn badly. Your tires were rotated, but were they balanced? Any bends in the wheel? And lastly, how are your brake rotors, warped rotors will show themselves at highway speeds.
Thanks for the reply. You are correct, the low control arm bushings are shot and will be replace them soon. Can they cause such a rough ride?
I did not have the tires rebalanced. I will try that also.
Brake rotors were recently replaced.
Can worn wheel bearings make a tap-tap-tap sound when turning?

I have a 1994- wish I could drive yours, I would be able to tell you what's up-
All new control arms w/o new bushings causes problems. I KNOW they are shot (with that kind of mileage). Can't figure why they would cause the noise at turning-
The noise you hear is mostly caused (in order of cause) axle/bearings/bearing at inside shaft/rotors.
New axle, but is it a bad one? New rotor, but is it running true?
Whhel bearings are a good bet.
Is the 1/2 shaft (the inside shaft) on that on the DRIVER side, like mine, or the passenger side? It has a bearing you should also have checked-
Sorry can't help more- lots of ground to cover here due to the amount of mileage on the car. Wrenchy

are you sure you changed the correct cv axle?
Also check all the boots and make sure they aren't leaky
The worn wheel bearings shouldnt click when turning. It has to be something on the suspension.

Both axles have been replaced within the past month and the boots still look good. I could have gotten a bad one for the passenger side. Has me stumped.

I was thinking about the stablizer bar bushings that are shot. I can't tell about the lower control arm. Are those bushings hard to change? I changed the Upper CA with new ball joints.
Are wheel bearings hard to replace? Looks like you have to press them out or something.
Thanks for the help!

If you hear tap-tap-tap when you turn, its def the passenger side axle. Did you buy the Axle brand new, or from a place similar to AutoZone (Autozone sells re-built) axles? The driver side is a full, and the passenger side is a half.

Did you have clicking and then change the axle? and then clicking is back?
If so it possibly could be it. It happened to me not long ago. One of my transaxle rods snapped and they replaced the whole assembly which included the CV Axle.
A few months later my cars clicking like crazy at every turn and it was the CV axle making the noise. Hopefully your part and labor is still under warranty.

The sound is def coming from the passenger side during a left turn. This was confirmed in a cul-de-sac. The passenger half-shaft was a reman from Autozone. I put it in myself, but I think the part has a limitied warranty. I'm going tomorrow to see what they can do.
