OK, heres the deal... I have an EK with a stock single cam d16y7. I just purchased an EG that got t-boned in the drivers side but it has a b16a under the hood. What I want to do is put the d16 in the EG and put the b16 in my EK. How much of this is a direct plug and play? Will I need new axles, shift linkage, or motor mounts? Please tell me what else i need to purchase to make BOTH of these cars running after the swap. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm assuming its a B16a and not a B16a2 motor your swapping into the EK. I don't know what to tell you about the EG, but i'm pretty sure thats 99% bolt in and PnP.

 

thanks for the info, if anyone wants to add to that i would like to be sure that I have as close to 100% of all the parts i need because this swap will happen over the weekend. my EK is my daily driver and i need it up and running on monday to take me to school/work. thanks again.

Usually questions like this are answered only with SEARCH!!! But since I just did a swap this week I'll answer in quick like fashion.

Just did this swap (although with b20), here's what you'll need:

- 99-00 Si Rear mount
- 99-00 Si driver's side engine bracket (maybe, I didn't need it for some reason)
- OBD2 alternator (or you may be able to repin your civic plug with an obd1 plug)
- Distributor plug will have to be repinned or you could use a 99-00 Si dizzy or I think a dizzy from an 00-01 GSR or ITR will work
- To aviod unnecessary complication, use an 0bd1 ecu with a jumper harness
- Primary O2 sensor, map sensor, tps sensor will have to be lengthed if using the y7 harness, as well as changing the plug on the IACV from a 3 wire plug to a two wire plug and changing the plug on the IAT to a round plug. Be sure to re-cover the wires that were lengthed...
- I don't think that the exhaust from the y7 will work, but you should get something bigger anyway...
