Default Questions on setup.

I am in the market for a set of springs/struts or possibly a good coil over system. I have been doing a bit of research on some possible combinations and I was wondering if anyone else would have a bit of extra insight on the subject.

First, the car:

1993 Honda Civic VX
ASR brace w/22mm ITR bar and Stock EX front swaybar have been installed if it matters. I am looking for a good street + occaisional autox, HPDE setup. I have a budget of around 1300 (give or take)

I looked into the HT package @ GC and I was wondering if those shocks need to be revalved at all? If so what price range? What spring rates would you suggest?

I am interested in PIC also and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a review on their product or throw one out in this thread.

Tein FLEX, different than the SS I know, why is that 3rd perch so important?

If anyone has any other ideas for setups by all means speak up.

Sorry for the newb questions, I have to start somewhere. Thanks for all of the help/insight.

this setup uses the Koni Race valving and costs a little over $1300

this one uses off the shelf konis and costs just over $800

For the $1300 price range, the first setup is probably the best combo you're going to find unless you start dropping a lot more money into it.

With that setup is replacement of the tophats neccesary [sic]? I looked around and did some reading and was wondering if they do need to be changed so that the shock has its full travel. Thanks for the help.

you don't need the extended top hats with the shortened race Konis
