brake scratching noise on my 06 coupe.
like the topic says.
i have a 06 accord coupe 4cyl and recently ive been hearing a slight brake scratching noise as if my breaks in that one corner (driver-rear) are needing a replacement.
the front left break was checked and it had plenty of wear to go, so it makes no sense.
the car has almost 32k on it already and this noise creeps up on long/slight-turns on highways, and sometimes on str8aways.
anyone else know anything about this? or have same problem?

Could be a lot of things. You need to jack the car up, and check it out. Turn the wheel by hand, and try to pinpoint the noise. Check the pads, rotor, debris logged in between the rotor and dust shield. If the wheel feels like it's dragging, it could be a sticking caliper, or emergency brake not releasing. Many people have had premature pad wear on the rear pads. Check it out, before it ends up costing you more money. Good luck
Almost 32k miles huh.. I don't want to scare you but, I've done more than a dozen rear brake jobs on the new Accords.. They typically seem to run out at around 30k to 40k miles. My explanation to customers is that it is due to the super sensitive brake pedal. It's kind of like rear shoes, if you adjust them correctly, they can sometimes take up slack in the brake pedal. If your a loyal honda dealer customer, they'll warranty it. But don't take my word for it..

on brakes? i wish we all get to live close to your dealer
i hate the new brake on the accord, all three of my honda got the old school hold and press feel and the newer honda just too touchy for me.
30-40k sounds little short for a rear pad/shoes swap

I'm just curious to see...did you ever figure this one out? I have an 05 Accord that has some problems going on with the brakes, but my car only has 12000 miles on it. I think it is wayy too early for my brakes to be giving me problems. They are making scratching noises too and also vibrate/pulsate when I press the brakes. It's the front brakes I think. Any clue?
im planning on taking my car into the dealer sometime this week/end.
my warrenty is gone in 4k so i have to get it checked out completely before then, there are is also another problem that i need to bring to their attention, my axle makes noises on left turns/accelerating... but its still all clean/new and no ripped boot. had a mechanic check it out earlier.

Okay...what about my car....there are only 12-13k miles on it and that is definately too early to be switched. I agree with them being too sensitive....could it be something I'm doing? I don't ride the brakes. Maybe once in awhile I am stopping too fast, but other than that I don't think it should be me? Right?

the brakes on my ride are only sensative when they are cold, over nite or in cold regions...
i almost slammed my face into my steering wheel this morning just by simply pulling out of my driveway... and i barely touched the brakes...
will teach you to put on ur seatbelt right away lol

most dealers will cover front rotor resurface and front brake pads once under warranty period. heat build up from harder or faster stops warps rotors. also torque to tight can factor in. hope it helps. notorios on 2003 through current accords
