i recently bought a 92 civic. i have 2 camaros but i needed something dependable and easy on gas. anyway, the guy i bought it from said he put a 1.5VTEC engine in it. i don't know much about hondas, i don't know if it's a 1.5, but it is a VTEC. how can i tell the engine size? thanks

 

look where the tranny mates to the block.. there is a square stamp on the block, left of the header, cant miss it, will read either d16z6 or d15b

 

it is a d15b

hondas are fairly easy
d15 = 1.5
d16= 1.6
b18 = 1.8

you get the idea

 

its a 1.5 the 15 in 15 means its a 1.5 Liter if you have a H22, that means its a 2.2 liter. and so forth.

120hp ish, turbo is the only way to get good results from these engines, because they got no displacement.

 

Best engine mod for it would be a new engine. Otherwise you wont get to much power.

The D15B differs from the D15B7

The D15 is a JDM motor and if you search around on honda tech you will find parts guidelines for replacement parts

The D15B7 is the stock Dx motor with no vtec
