I have no clue what the problem is but lately when i drive in 4th gear around 2.5rpm ill downshift to 2nd which it jumps up to about 5,500+ while im flooring it at the same time and all the lights on the dash, my radio will all turn off and the car starts to rock back and forth and the yellow light on the dash starts flashing which i didnt get a good look at it but this has happened to times in 1day and its never done this... After i put it in neutral everyhing comes back on like my headlights/cd deck and the regular lights on the dash.

if anyone has any idea of what this problem could be any help is possible.


BTW this is a 97 Civic Coupe EX EJ8

All Stock. cold air intake and NGK Wires.

sounds like misfiring when u hit vtec. GEt a tune up maybe that will help

 

Scary maybe caspers living in there. Flash on and off the lights and roll you back and forth haha.

 

The light you probably see flashing is you check engine light. I'd stop doing that if I were you. Is the CEL still on or does it only "flash" when you do that? Does it come on when you go into Vtec normally? If it is, your car is probably going into 'limp' mode.

And why are you driving like that? Do you like to change/brake you motor mounts? There's probably not enough torque to do that anyways

 

probably not haha but we all no civics get their power in the high rpm range when vtec is in but ive never seen this light before when going into vtec and i can easily go into vtec if i dont down shift and go into it. It doesnt always do that but yea i think it was the check engine light. And i changed my sparkplugs, oil, rotor, dizzy and wires like... 2,000-2,500 miles ago also im using royal purple oil which is suppost to work great. also magnetic plugs from password jdm but i just have no idea why it does that. It rocks back and forth like when i let my gf try to drive stick and they start getting the car to rock back and forth enough to get a damn headache haha. Its weird because everything turns off when that happens. and when i let off and throw it in neutral it comes back on. Engine still on cars still on just everything stops working until i put it in neutral...;
