Weird problem with dash lights going wild
So this happened twice yesterday, i was driving at night when suddenly my dash lights went crazy, going from bright to off and in between, kind of like there was a loose wire, i also noticed a weird smell at the time, smelled like a kind of fluid (oil/brake/etc) or maybe electrical. After about 30 seconds both times, the smell and light issue went completely away. No other lights (radio and headlights) acted strangely and the car didn't drive differently. Anyone have any ideas? Its a bone stock 92 CX

maybe your dimmer switch. mine went out and something similar happened. go to a junk yard and steal one lol. try that. i dunno about the smell...if it could have smelled like elctrical then some wires could be loose and touching. so it looks like u have a little searching for loose wires ahead of you.
